He Toi ā-Tāhua 3 - But wait, there's more!

People have been ringing me up (so many!) and demanding I post more photos of our students with their stencils, so here we go:

Maharanui Pouwhare-Davis with her interesting design on the marimba's waewae.

Te Maioha Nohotima-Hunia's stencil represents pāraerae (flax sandals).

Jessica Martin created these beautiful butterflies and kapowai.

Mila Gee exploring her ideas in full colour

Next term we will make a few more tāhua, and then spend a good couple of weeks just going hard and applying all the patterns to the taonga using permanent Resene paint. Then the sound garden will be complete, and all that's left is to wait until the enclosure is built to house our collection of beautiful instruments. I can't wait to see it all done, both to have our student's beautiful decorations on the taonga, and to finally have them all available to them to use in their free time. Mouri tū, mouri ora, mouri puāwai ki te ao!
